These are timber frame houses constructed in the factory to very exacting standards, and in a controlled environment using Scandinavian structural timber. Timber framed construction is based on factory-made structural elements,with the timber framed wall panels carrying the loads on the building to the foundations,whilst the outer cladding provides decoration and weather protection.Cladding can be provided according to choice ; brick, block, wood or render.
Once delivered to site, the average home can be made watertight in just four to ten days,and ready for occupancy in just 4 to 6 weeks after that. This avoids common problems with delays caused by weather, subcontractor no-shows or missing materials. French builders can be notoriously slow at completing a build.
Timber build offers environmental, technical, health and safety and speed advantages in comparison with other methods of building.
